Klute Kute with Thais

I've been asked to style a lot of 1970s inspired shoots lately, which has been a challenge since it's my least favorite decade aesthetically. Not to say that I don't find any sort of inspiration from the 70s, but compared to the creative and innovative style of the 60s, the style of the 1970s is a bit casual for me. However, I was very inspired by the film Klute (made in 1971 so there is still some leftover 60s fashion...probably why I was inspired by it) starring Jane Fonda as a prostitute, helping solve a mystery with a detective played by Donald Sutherland. It goes against my instinct to draw inspiration from a prostitute...that is just silly to even type...but Jane Fonda's wardrobe in that movie is simply iconic. Fonda's character, Bree Daniels, does wear color (and even some sequins) but I wanted to keep all of the looks in neutral tones. Thais is a fellow Ford Model who I've known for a few years now so it was fun to work with her in a different capacity. It was a fun shoot and I might even be warming up to 70s style. ;)
